Before You Begin

Ensure you have:

  • The latest version of the Pixel Dancer app installed

  • Your Chromaglow controllers are powered and functioning

  • Access to a stable 2.4GHz WiFi network

Pro Tip: When setting up multiple controllers, configure all client controllers first, and set up the master controller last for optimal performance.

Step-by-Step Setup Process

Video guide for Connecting Multiple Chromaglow Controllers in Network Mode:

1. Initial Connection

  1. Open your device's WiFi settings

  2. Connect to the controller's WiFi network (named "WEC-XXX")

  3. Launch the Pixel Dancer app

  4. Wait for the "Connection Successful" message

2. Setting Up Client Controllers

  1. In the Pixel Dancer app, go to Settings

  2. Select "Network Mode"

  3. Enter your WiFi network name exactly as it appears

  4. Enter your WiFi password

  5. Select "Client" mode

  6. Tap "Reboot WEC" to save settings

  7. Wait for the controller's green light to stop flashing and become steady

  8. Test the connection by adjusting colors in the app

3. Setting Up the Master Controller

After all client controllers are set up:

  1. Close the Pixel Dancer app completely

  2. Connect to the final controller in Direct Mode

  3. Go to Settings

  4. Select "Network Mode"

  5. Enter the same WiFi network information

  6. Select "Master" mode

  7. Tap "Reboot WEC"

4. Verifying the Connection

To confirm successful setup:

  • Wait for the controller's green light to become steady

  • Open the Pixel Dancer app

  • Test the color wheel - all connected controllers should respond in sync

Important: If the controllers don't appear on the network, you may need to perform a hard reset and repeat the process. Ensure you're using a 2.4GHz network, as 5GHz networks are not compatible.

Troubleshooting

  • Common Issues and Solutions

    • If the controller doesn't appear in network mode:

      • Close the app completely and restart it

      • Verify you're connected to the correct WiFi network

      • Check that the network password was entered correctly

    • If lights aren't syncing:

      • Ensure all controllers are on the same network

      • Verify that only one controller is set as Master

      • Check that all other controllers are set as Clients
