What You’ll Need
Cable:
Choose from green or black (great for camouflaging along the ground or in trees), or white (perfect on light-coloured fascia) SPT-2 Power Cord. Our cable comes in 100 and 1000-foot spools. For easy handling, place the spool in a 5-gallon bucket with a hole drilled in the bottom—simply pull the cord out as needed to keep things untangled.
Male and Female Plugs:
Each plug includes two parts: the main housing and a cap. The cap secures the cable and allows the metal teeth to pierce the insulation, making the connection.
Wire Cutters:
Essential for cutting the wire and fitting it into the plugs. The handles can also help push the cap tightly onto the plug.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Identify the Ribbed Side: Examine the wire and find the ribbed side—remember the “ribbed side right” rule to ensure proper installation and safety.
Split the Ends: Using your clippers, carefully split the two insulated wires about 1/4" at the end. Be sure not to cut into the insulation itself—if you do, simply trim the end and try again.
Adjust the Insulation: Pinch about 3 inches down from the end and stretch the plastic insulation back over the exposed ends so no copper is left sticking out.
Insert Into Plug: With the ribbed side of the wire facing right, push the treated end into the plug’s receptacle. Ensure each wire fits into its own channel, separated by the internal plastic divider.
Connect the Wires: Push the cable in firmly, then roll your thumb over the cable to help the metal teeth penetrate the insulation and connect with the copper inside.
Attach the Cap: Slide the cap over the open end of the plug. A tight fit is expected—use the handles of your wire cutters if needed for extra leverage.
Repeat for the Other End: Measure and cut the desired length of cable, and repeat the above steps with the other plug (male on one end, female on the other).
Pro Tip: Always use the correct wire color to camouflage your extension cable.
Keep all connections snug for safety and best performance.
