What Are Cable Hooks?

Cable hooks are reusable plastic clips that attach string lights to 1/8" galvanized wire rope. They eliminate the need for single-use cable ties, reducing installation time by up to 50% and minimizing waste.

Product Specifications

  • SKU: CLIP-CBL-HK

  • Material: Clear polycarbonate plastic

  • Compatibility: 1/8" galvanized steel wire rope

  • Packaging: 100-pack

  • Reusable: Yes

Compatible Light Types

Cable hooks work with:

  • E17 socket wire (SPT-2 base)

  • E12 socket wire (SPT-2 base)

  • E26 sockets β€” hook through the hole at the top of the socket

  • Curtain light power chains β€” hook fits the top loop

Installation Method

Pull-Through Technique

  1. Attach wire rope between mounting points using clutchers

  2. For E26 wire, hook the top end of the cable hook onto the wire rope and thread the bottom end through the hanging hole at the top of the E26 socket. For E12 and E17 socket wire, hook the top end onto the wire rope and slot the wire into the middle of the cable hook. Repeat for each socket and hook.

  3. Pull the light string along the wire rope like a clothesline

  4. The hooks prevent snagging and allow smooth installation

Key Benefits

  • Faster installation: 50% time reduction vs. cable ties

  • No cutting required: Remove and reuse season after season

  • Prevents sagging: Maintains tight lines over long spans

  • Easy removal: Simply unhook for takedown

Best Applications

  • Spanning distances between trees or structures

  • Commercial installations using aircraft cable

  • Any wire rope support system where speed and reusability matter
