What is Shop Pay?
A fast checkout by Shopify. It saves your information so you can buy in a few taps on many online stores or using the Shop app.
Why you might use it: It’s quick, secure, and can offer pay‑over‑time options on eligible orders (called Shop Pay Installments). Terms and limits depend on your order and location, up to about $30,000.
What you’ll see: On the Shop Pay checkout, you’ll typically see Pay with Shop or an installments option.
When you’re logged in to Shop Pay, you’ll be taken to the Shop Pay checkout. It’s similar to the Big Star Lights checkout, but it will use your saved Shop Pay details and card. It will also change the checkout options slightly — you’ll be able to pay with Shop Pay Installments, but you won’t see Big Star Lights special payment options such as E‑Transfer or PO.
How to check out with Shop Pay
Fill your cart and go to checkout.
Select Shop under the express checkout options.
3. Log in to your Shop Pay account.
4. Your saved details will be applied to the cart. Double‑check that everything is correct before selecting Pay now.

How to sign out of Shop Pay
Shop Pay provides a convenient checkout. However, for Pro Installer accounts, you need to use the correct email address to apply your discount code and the correct card. The card saved in Shop Pay may not be the one you want to use for payments at BSL. Here’s how to sign out of Shop Pay if you need to:
On the Shop Pay screen, scroll down and tap or click Checkout as guest.
2. You’ll be redirected back to the Big Star Lights checkout.
3. Enter your email address first.
4. Fill in your shipping details.
5. Apply your discount code.
6. Choose your preferred payment method, including Purchase Order (PO) or E‑Transfer (CA).
If Shop Pay keeps redirecting you or logging you in
Open an incognito/private browser window and start checkout again from bigstarlights.ca or bigstarlights.com.
Clear cookies for shop.app, then reload checkout and proceed.
How to recognize Shop Pay checkout
The URL mentions shop.app or you see prominent Shop Pay branding.
Only Pay now and Pay in installments show.
PO and E‑Transfer options are missing.
Shipping methods may be hidden under a dropdown.
