  1. Download the Chromaglow Pro HRSYT app from your phone's app store, or scan the QR code printed on your controller for a direct link

  2. Open the app and either register with your email to create an account, or select "visitor" if you're just testing the display temporarily

  3. Make sure your control box is plugged in and powered on

  4. Enable Bluetooth in your phone's settings

  5. In the app, tap the plus icon (add device) to begin pairing

Critical First Configuration

Before you do anything else, you need to tell the controller how many lights you have installed:

  1. Open the Settings menu (usually a gear icon)

  2. Set the IC type to match your lights (this is typically pre-configured correctly)

  3. Calibrate the color if needed (adjusts color accuracy)

  4. Enter the exact number of lights in your system – this is essential!

    • If you have multiple runs, keep each segment under 500 lights

    • Total system should stay under 1,500 lights for best performance

    • The controller uses this number to calculate how effects display, so accuracy matters

Understanding the Main Screen

When you open the app, you'll see two main switches:

Master Switch – This turns your entire lighting system on or off. Simple as that.

RGB Switch – This controls only the colored LED channels in your lights. When you turn this off, your colored lights go dark, but if you've set warm white lighting, that brightness stays exactly where you set it. This is useful when you want pure white architectural lighting without any color mixing in.

Core Lighting Functions

Colorful – Manual Color Control

This is your painting tool. Use it when you want to manually create your own color scheme.

How to use it:

  • Open the Colorful function from the main menu

  • You'll see controls to adjust colors for all your lights at once, or you can select specific segments if you want different sections to be different colors

  • Paint mode: Tap sections on the display and assign colors to create zones – one section could be red, another blue, another green

  • Erase: Tap the eraser and then tap sections to remove colors you don't want

  • Gradient mode: Instead of hard color boundaries, create smooth color transitions that fade from one color to another across your roofline

This gives you total creative control to match your home's look or any occasion.

Themes – Pre-Made Lighting Looks

Think of themes as professionally designed lighting presets. Instead of building colors from scratch, you pick a theme that matches your mood or occasion.

How to use it:

  • Open the Themes function

  • Browse through curated categories:

    • Holiday: Christmas reds and greens, Halloween oranges and purples, patriotic red/white/blue, etc.

    • Accent: Subtle architectural highlighting for everyday use

    • Princess: Soft pastels and elegant colors

    • Atmosphere: Ambient lighting for parties, relaxation, or entertaining

  • Tap any theme to preview it on your lights

  • Tap the heart or favorite icon to save themes you use often

  • Create your own: Tap the plus sign to build a DIY theme. You can combine multiple dynamic effects (like twinkling, fading, chasing) and save it with a custom name

Playlist – Automatic Effect Rotation

Playlists let your lighting change automatically over the course of an evening without you touching your phone. The lights will cycle through different effects you've chosen.

How to use it:

  • Open the Playlist function

  • Tap to add effects – you might choose "red twinkle" for 10 minutes, then "blue fade" for 15 minutes, then "rainbow chase" for 10 minutes

  • Set how long each effect runs before moving to the next one

  • Reorder your playlist: press and hold any effect for 3-5 seconds until it lifts slightly, then drag it up or down to change the sequence

  • Hit play and your lights will cycle through the entire playlist automatically

Perfect for parties or holidays when you want variety without constant adjustments.

White – Simple Architectural Lighting

This is your everyday, elegant lighting mode. No colors, no effects – just clean, warm white light that highlights your home's architecture.

How to use it:

  • Open the White function

  • Use the brightness slider to adjust intensity from subtle accent lighting to bright security lighting

  • This is what most people use 90% of the year for classic, sophisticated illumination

Schedule – Set It and Forget It

Schedules are how you make your lighting fully automatic. Tell the system when to turn on, what color or effect to use, and when to turn off.

How to use it:

  • Open the Schedule function

  • Tap "Add Schedule" or the plus icon

  • Set your on time (example: 6:00 PM)

  • Set your off time (example: 11:00 PM)

  • Choose what you want the lights to do: pick a specific color, theme, or effect

  • Choose which days this schedule applies (every day, weekdays only, weekends, specific days)

  • Save it

Now your lights will automatically turn on at 6 PM with your chosen look and turn off at 11 PM. You never have to think about it. Create multiple schedules for different times of year or different occasions.

Advanced Creative Functions

Doodle – Draw Your Own Patterns

Doodle mode gives you a blank canvas where you can create unique lighting patterns by literally drawing them.

How to use it:

  • First, make absolutely sure the number of lights in Settings matches your actual installation – if this is wrong, your pattern won't display correctly

  • Open the Doodle function

  • You'll see a grid representing your lights

  • Use your finger to draw patterns – stripes, waves, alternating colors, specific words or shapes

  • The pattern you draw will display on your actual lights

  • Save patterns you like so you can recall them later

This is for creating one-of-a-kind displays that no preset could match.

Melody – Music Synchronized Lighting

Your lights will dance in sync with music. This is incredible for parties or just for fun.

How to use it:

  • Open the Melody function

  • Import a song from your device:

    • On iPhone/iOS: Import songs through iTunes or transfer from your computer

    • On Android: Select audio files stored directly on your phone

  • Once a song is loaded, the app analyzes it and creates a synchronized light show

  • Hit play and watch your lights pulse, flash, and change colors in perfect sync with the music

Mic – Real-Time Sound Reaction

Similar to Melody, but instead of syncing to a pre-loaded song, your lights react to any sound in real-time.

How to use it:

  • Open the Mic function

  • Choose your sound source:

    • Phone's microphone: The app listens through your phone's mic (hold it near speakers or let it pick up ambient sound)

    • Device microphone: If your controller has a voice-activated version with a built-in mic, it listens directly

  • The lights will respond instantly to sound – music, voices, clapping, whatever the mic picks up

  • Louder sounds create brighter or more intense reactions

Perfect for live music, conversation during parties, or just experimenting.

Scene – Save Your Favorite Looks

Scenes are like bookmarks for lighting configurations. Any color combination or effect you create can be saved as a scene for instant recall.

How to use it:

  • Set up your lights exactly how you want them (using Colorful, Themes, or any other function)

  • Open the Scene function

  • Tap "Save Current Scene" or the plus icon

  • Give it a descriptive name like "Dinner Party Amber" or "Kids Movie Night Blue"

  • Now whenever you want that exact look again, just open Scenes and tap it – instant recall

Build up a library of your favorite looks over time.

Create Smart – Condition-Based Automation

This is the most sophisticated automation. Instead of fixed times, your lights respond to real-world conditions.

How to use it:

  • Open the Create Smart function

  • Create a new automation

  • Choose a trigger:

    • Sunrise: Lights turn off automatically when sun comes up

    • Sunset: Lights turn on automatically when sun goes down (adjusts daily as sunset time changes)

    • Custom schedule: Combine with other conditions

  • Choose what happens: select a saved Scene to activate

  • Save the automation

Example: "When sunset occurs, activate my 'Warm White Evening' scene. When sunrise occurs, turn off all lights." Now your system tracks sunrise/sunset times year-round and adjusts automatically.

Multi-Controller & Sharing

Link – Controlling Multiple Controllers Together

If your home is large enough to need two control boxes, you can link them so they work as one unified system.

How to use it:

  • Make sure both controllers are set up in the app

  • Open the Link function

  • Select which controllers to link together

  • Choose a mode:

    • Series mode: Effects flow continuously from controller 1 to controller 2, creating one seamless display across your entire home

    • Parallel mode: Both controllers display the same effect simultaneously, mirroring each other

  • Save the configuration

Now when you control one, you control both.

Sharing with Family – Give Others Access

Everyone in your household can control the lights from their own phones.

How to use it:

  • Open your profile menu in the app

  • Tap "Sharing with Family" or "Share Access"

  • The app displays your unique family QR code

  • Have your family member download the app on their phone

  • They scan your QR code with their phone's camera

  • Now they have full access to control the lights

No need to share passwords or accounts.

Third Party Voice Services – Alexa & Google Home

Control your lights with voice commands through your existing smart home system.

Important limitation: This only works with controllers connected via Wi-Fi. Bluetooth-only connections cannot use voice services.

How to use it:

  • Open the Third Party Voice Services function

  • Select either Alexa or Google Home

  • Follow the prompts to link your Chromaglow account with your voice assistant

  • Once linked, you can say things like:

    • "Alexa, turn on the patio lights"

    • "Hey Google, set the house lights to red"

    • "Alexa, dim the Christmas lights to 50%"

Interactive & Fun Features

Fun Games – Turn Your Lights Into Play

These modes turn your lighting system into interactive entertainment. Great for kids or just having fun.

Small Piano

  • Opens a virtual piano keyboard on your phone screen

  • Each key you press lights up a corresponding section of your lights in that note's color

  • Create musical light shows by playing melodies

Sliding Meteor

  • Touch your screen and drag your finger

  • A "meteor" effect follows your finger's path across your lights in real-time

  • Creates swooshing, trailing light effects

Drop Colors / Learn Colors

  • Quick color-matching game

  • The app shows a color and you have to quickly tap the matching color from options

  • Your lights react to correct/incorrect answers

  • Fun challenge for kids or parties

Shake to Change

  • Point the camera at anything in the real world – a sunset, your couch, a painting, a car

  • The app captures that color and instantly changes your lights to match it

  • Match your lights to anything you can see
